An Attempt at Bluebonnet Pictures...

When Luke was a baby, we sat him in a bunch of bluebonnets and took pictures. (Ya, he's a boy, and it's not the most boyish thing to do but it was fun and he was cute and it's a Texas thing to do...)

Anyway, I was driving yesterday and noticed that there were bluebonnets on the sides of the roads again and I wanted to get Ella's pics in them. So, I changed the kiddos clothes and took them to the same place we took Luke's pics a couple years ago. Let's just say that the flowers are not nearly as plentiful this year! Haha.

I got out of the car quick... took them down to a good spot and snapped a couple pictures. Two cars stopped thinking I was having car trouble and another dude yelled out his car window "You're going to get fined!!" Huh? I thought you only get fined if you pick the dang things.... Anyway, our little picture session lasted a grand thirty seconds and I thought I better leave. Maybe we'll go back another time with Jake to get better ones... and hopefully more flowers will come out!!

Since the kids were looking picture ready though, I took more pics when we came home just because.

He wanted me to take one of him "being fast!!"

Bug Lover

Luke had so much fun yesterday with this bug that I had to take some pictures! By the way... what do you call these kinds 0f bugs?? Jake insists they are roly-poly or pill bugs. He had never heard of "potato" bugs which is what I always called them! Haha
Wow! I think his name is Gordon. (Jake tells him stories at night about Buster and Gordon... so Luke names most things Buster or Gordon...)

Look! He's a ball!

Oops mom... I think I broke him. So, I throwed him in the grass.

*update... I found out that all of our names for this bug were right. :)

TreAtS

YesterdayI made some treats I had been wanting to make for a looong time! I love Bakerella, and have been following the blog for about a year now! Yesterday I finally got to cross off one of the many things on my want to do list, and made these! It was so fun. I made half the batch cupcake pops and half hello kitty pops. Was going to give them away to people that came to check out the house today, but now I'm thinking they look cute just sitting on my counter. Maybe I'll make some later to give away... :)

SAD day

One of my most favorite stores ever is filing for bankruptcy protection and closing most (if not all) stores... (sniff,.. sniff). They seriously have the cutest kids stuff. Especially the shoes. I was going to their site this morning to get Ella some tip toey joeys. Mom, I guess I'm going to have you go to the store to pick up any remaining must-haves. They aren't taking online orders anymore.

Ten Things Tuesday...

1. I love being around 2-year-olds. They say hilarious things. Like for instance, when we were at the park and Luke yelled, "Hey mom!! It's the brown polar express girl!!!!" (the cute little girl did indeed look like the "brown" girl on Polar Express.) And they make comments like "MMMmmm.... I think these chicken nuggets are making me STRONG!"

2. Ella is rolling around everywhere, and trying to sit up on her own. She's getting pretty good at getting around! She turned 6 months yesterday. She plays this game with me when she is wanting attention where she smooches her lips together like she's going to give a kiss, then does this raspberry thing where she blows and spits all over. It's kinda funny!

3. I'm wanting a new car. Can't wait for the day when we have more space!

4. Countdown to spring vacation! It's coming up in a couple of weeks! We're heading to AZ, then to Vegas to check things out.

5. We had a crazy weekend with the house on the market. Five showings so far, and I'm ready to be done. So, come buy our house.

6. I want to sit and catch up on scrapping... the kiddo's books are getting behind. But I'm afraid all my stuff will be out and someone will want to come see the house. Again, someone buy our house soon!

7. We have a vacuum that works finally! Woo hoo! So awesome to have some suction when ya need to clean up cracker crumbs, right? Jake and I both want to do the vacuuming now.

8. With all these clouds around, I hope it rains! Save me from moving the sprinkler around!

9. Still debating whether or not to get my own facebook account. I'm the last person on earth who doesn't have one,... but I'm thinking I might be on the computer too much if I did have one!

10. I need to go buy some wipes. Ella is out, and I just had to use t.p. I'm SO glad I didn't live 100 years ago... cleaning up after babies must have been SO not fun...

DeJa vU

I was putting on some makeup the other morning, and Ella and Luke were laying on my bed. When I turned around, Ella had her foot in her mouth just like Luke used to do! Lately, little things she does and her cutie chub remind me so much of her brother as a baby. Crazy. I had to grab the camera. Here she is showing off her flexibility. Haha...

Other news...

*as of this past Monday, the house is officially for sale! They haven't brought by the yard sign yet, but it's listed on the MLS and a bunch of websites.
*Look who Luke ran into at the golden arches.... (scary, huh?..) Oh, and Ronald speaks Spanish here in S.A.

*Luke is way into the computer now. He is a nickjr.com junkie and will mess around on there until I kick him off. I must admit though, the games are pretty fun and educational. He's got his ABCs and numbers down. I like to play in their art section too. You should try it if you haven't!

*Luke has also been beating me to my snacks. So much for the strawberries I wanted... There was only 1 left he hadn't taken a bite out of yesterday. They were sitting on the counter because I had just gotten them from the store. This is what I came out of the other room to...

*I finished a million papers and assignments for a couple of classes. Ok, well maybe not a million, but I did write close to 30 papers in about 2 weeks. Some were big research fatties. Jake helped me stay awake and was lots of help during marathon paper writing nights... he's good at giving me ideas when I have to make up experiences just to finish the dang things. For instance, I lived in Guam for 3 years and made friends with a bunch of Chammorans while my dad was working for the military there. Hey, it works. I successfully compared the parenting techniques in Guam to our country in that paper. Maybe one day I'll visit...

Oh, and don't try the yellow Monster energy drink. It's gross! (No offense to people like my sister who like the stuff :) haha
